FEBRUARY 2019 (Rescheduled from Jan) Otter Creek Bunkhouse Trip

When: February 1 – 3  (Friday night to Sunday morning)

Place: Otter Creek at the Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area
Google Map Link

Coordinator: Mark Vincent

Number of Spots: 20

LEVEL 2 Trip

Equipment: 2-6 wt rods, weight forward floating lines primarily. Standard trout flies. Dead drift nymph fishing and egg patterns are very productive on Otter Creek.

Outing Details: This is a weekend trip, wade fishing Otter Creek, and sharing meals and camaraderie around the fire. We will be staying at the campground’s bunkhouses.  DCFF has reserved two bunkhouses in the campground, just minutes from the stream.  Consider joining us for one or both nights.

The each bunkhouse sleeps up to 14 people. The bunkhouse is heated, has electricity, a refrigerator/freezer, kitchen table and four chairs. A heated bath house is nearby. The bunkhouse is right next to an outdoor pavilion with picnic tables for gathering in case of inclement weather. A fire pit is also adjacent to the cabin for our evening campfire. Plan to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, and a lawn chair (bunks and mattresses are provided). Ear plugs are recommended and encouraged for a better night’s sleep!

There will be a coffee pot in the bunkhouse. Bring eating and drinking utensils, snacks, lunch and beverage of your choice. Spending the night(s) will allow good socializing time and a chance to share stories and camaraderie around the campfire. Often times, the socializing during our club trips is as valuable and fun, as the time spent on the water.

The cost per person to overnight is going to be $30 per night and includes evening firewood, supper and breakfast the next morning,   If you have any questions contact Mark Vincent at mark@derbycityflyfishers.com or 502-500-1561. You must be a 2019 member of the club to join us on this trip.
