DESCRIPTION:Instructional Outing\n\n\nSaturday November 4th\, 2023 \n9:00 am – 1:00 pm\nGarnettsville Picnic Grounds\nOtter Creek Recreational Area (First right after entrance) Google Map Link \nNew to fly fishing and want some “ALMOST FREE” one-on-one instruction? Been fly fishing for some time but want to up your game — maybe advanced casting techniques\, get a primer on Euro Nymph fishing? This instructional outing is just for you. You do not need to be a club member to participate\, so bring a friend! \nThere is a $3 per person daily entry fee that must be purchased online prior to arrival and kept on your person while you are in OCRA.  You can purchase a single day permit or an annual permit for $30. Either can be purchase at Otter Creek Permit. (Note: You have to proceed as if you are buying a license. When you get to the Licenses and Permits page\, scroll to the Otter Creek permit section and select the Day Pass or annual pass as appropriate.) \nIf you want to fish you will need a valid Kentucky fishing license but not a trout stamp. You’ll also want to bring your waders if you have them–bank fishing is limited. \nWe will be serving a free lunch at 1 pm (hot dogs\, chips and drinks). DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nDates: Feb. 9\, 16\, 22 and Mar. 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, 2023 \n            Sign Up ends Jan 28\, 2023 at Midnight (see registration link at bottom of page.) \nTime: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm \nLocation: Cabela’s\, Conference Room Google Map Link \nYou must be a paid up 2023 DCFF Member to participate. \nClass size will be limited to 5 people. \nThe class will be led by Gerry McDaniel and Jim Bearden.  Instruction will cover \n\nFinding the rod spline and reaming handles\nInstalling handle and reel seat\nGuide placement and wrapping\nEmbellishments and finishing guide wraps\nCatch up\n\nThere will not be enough time during the classes to complete the rod and you will have to spend time at home to finish it.  If you keep up with the classes and do your “homework” you will have a finished rod ready to fish by the end of the program.   \nYou will have the choice of building one of three rods \n\n9-foot 4 weight – panfish\, bluegill\, small stream\n9-foot 5 weight – excellent for mending drifts\n9-foot 7 weight – steelhead/salmon\, big streamers\n\nCost for the fly rod kit is $140 and will contain all parts and materials to build a complete rod.   \nThe Club has wrapping and drying cradles that you can use by paying a refundable deposit of $125. DESCRIPTION:New to fly fishing and want some “ALMOST FREE” one-on-one instruction?  Been fly fishing for some time but want to up your game?  This instructional outing is just for you.  You do not need to be a club member to participate\, so bring a friend!  You will be charged the normal Otter Creek Entry fee of $3 at the gate. \nWe customize the instruction to fit your needs\, you just tell us what you want!  We can give beginner casting instruction with the club fly rods.  We can talk about knots\, gear\, and flies.  We can show you how to fly fish on the water (bring your waders for best results)\, both with and without an indicator.  We can show you more advanced casting techniques including: \n\ndouble hauling\nroll casting\nsingle handed spey\ntwo handed spey\n\nRegistration is not required.
