SUMMARY:BOD/Eat & Talk
DESCRIPTION:Due to the first Wednesday of 2025 being the January 1st holiday\, we are combining the Board of Directors meeting with our monthly Eat & Talk. And as always\, you do not have to be a board member to attend. Please come and see how the club operates off of the water!! \nWe have the private event room so it should be quiet enough for conversation\, with plenty of room to get comfortable and enjoy each others company. This is a great opportunity to get to know some of your DCFF club mates a little better and swap some fish stories. You can come when you want\, eat and drink if you want\, mostly just share some camaraderie.

SUMMARY:Fly Tying - Cabela's
DESCRIPTION:Club Member Dave Conroy is going to demonstrate tying the Aurora nymph\, it is a great fly for trout in spring thru early summer. It can also be tied with a dubbed body for trout and panfish. Rubber leg nymphs like this are just about his favorite flies to tie and fish. The movement of the legs and tail and the overall buggy appearance make them real fish catchers. \n \nHere’s the recipe for the Aurora Nymph fly. \nHook: size 12 or 14 scud or size 12 or 14 jig. \nBead: 1/8″ for size 12\, 7/64″ for size 14\, gold or copper. \nThread: 8/0\, black or olive. \nTail and legs: fine round rubber\, brown or tan. \nBody: UTC mirage tinsel\, size large. \nRibbing: small gold or copper wire. \nThorax: peacock ice dub. \nWing case: UTC mirage tinsel\, size large. \n  \nOur Fly-Tying Classes are open to everyone – you do not have to be a member to attend.  Generally\, we tie one fly\, but we tie it twice.  An instructor demonstrates\, step-by-step\, how to tie the fly with accompanying video on a big screen TV so students can see each step. \nTools and materials are provided at no cost\, but if you have your own tools feel free to bring them. \nBeginners are welcome.  There will be experienced tiers available to provide individual help. \n
