SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Meetings are open to everyone\, you do not have to be a member to attend.  Typical format: 10-15 minute “Tackle Time”  presentation on some aspect of Fly Fishing followed by a business segment to introduce new members and guests\,  take questions and get updates on fishing from attendees\, announce/discuss upcoming events/trips\, and conduct any required club business. All this is followed by a 30 – 45 minute presentation by a guest speaker on a fly fishing related topic. \nThis January’s predestination will be Ron Kornrumph\, of Little Miami River Outfitters. \n \nRon is an avid river fly fisherman and fly tier who lives in Kentucky.  Kentucky is home to Elkhorn Creek\, which is otherwise known as “The Elkhorn” and is one of the top 50 smallmouth destinations in the United States.  Ron also guides several smallmouth streams in rivers in southeast Indiana and Cincinnati.

SUMMARY:**CANCELED*** Fly Tying - Cabela's
DESCRIPTION:Our Fly-Tying Classes are open to everyone – you do not have to be a member to attend.  Generally\, we tie one fly\, but we tie it twice.  An instructor demonstrates\, step-by-step\, how to tie the fly with accompanying video on a big screen TV so students can see each step. \nTools and materials are provided at no cost\, but if you have your own tools feel free to bring them. \nThe January 28/29 Fly Tying Class (28 at L’ville BassPro\, 29 at C’ville) will introduce what I think might be “The Dynamic Duo”. A Yellow Humpy as a strike indicator over a CK Nymph. I am anxious to try this setup on the Cumberland. Created in 1940 by Jack Horner in California\, the Humpy was called the “Horner Deer Hair” or the “Goofus Bug” but renamed “The Humpy” in the Jackson Hole area. It is mostly deer and elk hair. The “CK Nymph” was created in 1961 by Chuck Kraft because “I was looking for a fly that would look like a lot of different kinds of nymphs.” The CK Nymph is that fly. \n \nBeginners are welcome.  There will be experienced tiers available to provide individual help. \n
