DCFF and FFI

DCFF is now an affiliated club member of (FFI) Fly Fishers International.

The board of DCFF voted to become an affiliated club of Fly Fishers International and has aligned with the Ohio Chapter. This is not the same as an individual membership in FFI, but we will get into that later. This decision was based on two major factors:

  1. DCFF was able to take advantage of the group discount for our liability insurance which saves the club money, and we will benefit as a club by having access to information for other programs and club management resources.
  2. As members of a FFI Affiliate Club, our member will have basic access to educational resources that include Casting Skills Development, Fly Tying Instruction, and information on regional and national activities that you can participate in.

You can gain much more by joining FFI as an individual member, under DCFF and the Ohio Chapter by having full access to all of the training materials that FFI offers, as well as access to live trainings and certification programs that will enhance your skills, and introduce you to a wider community to share experiences and comradery with.

The Ohio Chapter (OHC) has the following Clubs as members:

  • DCFF
  • Firelands Fly Fishers
  • Land of Legends Fly Fishers
  • Mohican Valley Fly Fishers
  • Miami Valley Fly Fishers
  • North Coast Fly Fishers
  • Patriots on the Fly

The OHC also offers a monthly Fly-Tying Zoom Session on the third Friday of the month that is open to our entire membership. You will get a list of materials that you have to provide for yourself, and you can follow along live for the building process. These sessions will be on the DCFF Calendar, and the sessions are saved to the OHC Fly Tying YouTube Channel.

The OHC publishes a semi-annual News Letter that we will have access to on our website. You will get this directly if you become an individual member.
