Fly fishing in and around Louisville Kentucky
Club member Jason Scannell will be tying a variation of the low fat minnow developed by Cheech of Fly Fish Food. He will be tying a standard size and a smaller size often referred to as the baby fat minnow. This pattern can imitate a variety of fish and the possibilities are only limited by the tyer’s imagination. Jason has used it locally to catch smallmouth and largemouth bass. As well as hybrid striped bass and white bass. It is a fairly simple fly to tie but it is best tied with UV resin.

Our Fly Tying Classes are open to everyone – you do not have to be a member to attend. Generally we tie one fly, but we tie it twice. An instructor demonstrates, step-by-step, how to tie the fly with accompanying video on a big screen TV so students can see each step.
Tools and materials are provided at no cost, but if you have your own tools feel free to bring them.
Beginners are welcome. There will be experienced tiers available to provide individual help.
