Meetings are open to everyone, you do not have to be a member to attend. Typical format: 10-15 minute “Tackle Time” presentation on some aspect of Fly Fishing followed by a business segment to introduce new members and guests, take questions and get updates on fishing from attendees, announce/discuss upcoming events/trips, and conduct any required club business. All this is followed by a 30 – 45 minute presentation by a guest speaker on a fly fishing relatedtopic.
This month’s guest speaker will be Dr. Raymond Poff. He is a Professor in the Western Kentucky University (WKU) Recreation, Park, and Nonprofit Administration degree program https://www.wku.edu/recreation/ and is in his 22nd year with WKU. Dr. Poff has an extensive academic background in outdoor recreation and recreation management. His academic credentials are reinforced with years of outdoor recreation experience as a whitewater rafting guide, leader of several hands on fly fishing programs in Montana as well as studies abroad in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Central and South America and Canada all focused on the recreation and tourism industry. Dr. Poff will share some of his experiences and views on outdoor recreation with emphasis on fly fishing.
